OUR STORY
The term "Kage" (影), pronounced “Kah Geh” in Japanese, translates to "shadow" in English. In the context of Japanese tea culture, "Kage" refers to the ancestral technique of shading tea plants before harvesting.
This method has been pivotal in developing some of Japan's most esteemed teas, including Matcha and Gyokuro, often referred as the "king of teas."
The idea of "Kage" refers to the shading process involved in growing these teas, a traditional agricultural technique that deeply influences their flavor, aroma, and nutritional content.
